Sprectrom Christmas Street Car

I just brought a chritmas street car from my local hobby shop for half price cause the hobby shop is closing this month. My question is can i run the street car on regular on ho ez track with out reversing track and barn.

           Gary,

         The Christmas Street car will run on any HO track.
        The only thing the barn & special EZ track do, is make the reversing, automatic. The old version stopped (delayed) a few seconds, & went back.
The new version has a speed control on the barn, but still pauses & goes back from whence it came.
      The reversing is in track not Trolley.

How can i tell the differnce between the old and new vesion of the christmas car.

      The car is exactly the same, the trolley set difference is distinguished by the red barn is old model, & light cream colored barn is new model.
