Bachmann #5 Y switch

I bought said Bachmann #5 Y switch....but cant connect 2 tracks to the top points of the "Y"....the roadbeds wont allow them to snap in. Ive tried the lil 4in straight it came with and many other pieces. What am i missing?? HEELLPPP!!! Thank you in advance.

Bachmann E-Z Track HO #5 Wye Turnout, look underneath the included short straight, the roadbed is scored so you can break it away.
