Does any one know if the U-Boat shell from the Bachmann Auto Train will fit on the chassis of an Athearn U-Boat

I would say no. The way the shell is attached would not be the same and the inside dimensions of the shells are probably not the same either.   Joe

the Bachmann hoods are narrower than the athearn ones. there may not be enough clearance inside for the athearn motor, especially if it is one of the older grey ones.

you may have better luck with the u36b shell on a Bachmann b23-7 chassis.
