Greetings Gentlemen,
can anyone tell me what is the accepted Sierra Sound that is closest to the Annie. Although the Factory sound is ok I feel I need something a little more realistic.

As a general rule, I find any of the K-36 sounds are good, or an EBT.
Really, you choose the whistle you like.
Nowhere is it written:

"Thou shalt only use a specific sound system in a specific locomotive".

Soundtraxx and Phoenix both allow you to audition sounds.

If you want to compare to the real thing, try this:

Small scale railway (http://www.smallscalerailway.com/) offers a sound card for the Huckleberry RR narrow gauge ten wheeler - http://www.smallscalerailway.com/wav/Huckleberry_RR_2.wav. They also have a Bachmann tender install guide - http://www.smallscalerailway.com/example1.htm.
A lower cost option to some of those pricey cards.

If you decide to go the Small Scale Railway route, be sure to ask for their 1 watt add-on.  Outdoors or noisy indoor environments need more sound power than small boards can produce.  There are times when Sierra cards with their 1 watt outputs are marginal, but keep in mind that more power out means more battery power in.
Growing older is mandatory but growing up is optional.

Dave,

I used the Sierra Soundtraxx for the Bachmann 2-8-0 and the sound is fantastic  expecially outdoors.  With the sound on full the cows on the neighboring farm replied with vigor and came crowding over to the nearby fence!!!   They seem to be in love with my 4-6-0!

Many of my visitors mistake my Sierra sound for the more expensive Phoenix system.

Enjoy whatever you get!!!!

Thank you everyone for your replies.I think i will go for the 2-8-0 Sierra Sound. Now to find a supplier that will send one to New Zealand for me.

I think I used the Sierra Card for the LGB Mogul....that said...to me the Small Scale Card for the Huckleberry sounds more like "Tweetise" whom the 10 Wheeler is based on....but, the Sierra has worked Flawlessly for me with my RCS Control...and I am under the impression it is a little more "User Friendly"...meaning ringing bell and blowing whistle from my remote...course it should be...It cost almost 3 times more....
