quiet mode for 2-6-0 steam sound value

since cv113 is not available on sound value is there a way to silence this decoder when total layout is started. or do i have to f8 shut down each sound value locomotive each time i turn on the layout. i changed my diesel by changing cv116 to 15 and that makes it quiet until i address it but the steam locos do not do the same. your help will be appreciated.
