Railroad cerossing signals

I bought a Model power No. 1681 railroad crossing signal at a auction that had no instructions with it. Can anyone tell me what power source to use for it?

For that signal unit to automatically work, wire it to a Circuitron DF-1, grade crossing detector and flasher  or the like.
