Newer 2-8-0 Capacitor removal

Hi, I have a newer 2-8-0 that came with a decoder.  I want to change it to a sound decoder.  The board has at least three SMD caps should these be removed as one does with the older models?

Did it also come with a speaker in the model?

No speaker included but there is a mounting place for one with holes already drilled facing downward.
