How to install coal load in 80 ton Shay?

I just bought a new 80 ton Shay #81909 and am trying to install the coal load.  I can't get it all of the way in to sit flat.  I did scrap away the parting line in the two front grooves but that didn't fix it.

What's the trick?

Break out a file or the Dremel. I had to do some significant grinding on all my Shays to get the coal load to fit. BTW.....the oil bunker didn't fit any better.
