Does anyone have or know someone who has interior cab photes of the dual controls of the Chesapeake and Ohio BL2's?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

with regards to the original question, the c&o bl2s were probably traded in on gp30s around 1962=1963. not too many railfans were taking diesel photos when they were running. your best bet would be to contact the c&o technical & historical society. they may have some old company photos of them as delivered. i know union pacific's company photographer used to document all details of each new class of motive power when it was delivered. maybe c&o did the same.

Both of the WM's BL-2's exist in WVA.  Might be able to arrange to have someone take some cab photos for you during a visit.  I'm going to speculate a bit, but since the BL-2's were contemporary with the F-3's and F-7's, the cab arrangement was likely the same.

wm's bl2s didn't have dual control stands. the op stated c&o's did, and photos i've seen of them running long hood forward would seem to confirm that. as far as i know no f units had dual control stands. what would be the point? f units were not bi-directional like a road switcher type like a gp9. but a bl2 could be, and if c&o's were it would make them probably the first emds with dual controls.

Couldn't find specific C&O cab interior shots, but I did find these.

First set will "blow up" if you click on them; of note is that this cab looks like the back was open, leading down into the engine compartment (you can see the Roots blowers quite prominently in one of the shots).  I wonder if something was missing.

Monon No. 32, which has been preserved; this cab appears to be mostly as built:

A preserved Western Maryland BL-2; this one got a modern control stand at some point:

No. 82 in operation on the West Virginia Central:

If I don't miss my guess, the second control stand on a C&O BL-2 would have been on the fireman's side, facing the rear of the locomotive.  Notice how there is a lot of space with windows behind the cab door.  That location, cramped as it might be, would put the engineer in the right position to run the locomotive in the reverse direction.

Hope these shots help.
