Add DCC with Sound to a GP40 Diesel

Although I have had a Märklin HO layout for years, I am completely new to the American HO systems. I would appreciate any hints on how to add a DCC Sound controller and what make/model (Digitrax preferred) to my Bachmann GP40 Diesel.
