Royal Blue B&O 4-4-0 in Spectrum question

I stumbled across the Russian Paint on the Spectrum 4-4-0 and did some research.

There is supposed to be a B&O Version of this Spectrum engine soon, I cannot find any imagery or any specific information.

There are older standard engines on the listings which confuses me and are not DCC and appear to be those from years ago.

Can anyone show photo or share more information?

the B&O Royal Blue is NOT the spectrum 4-4-0, it is the Standerd Oldtimer 4-4-0. I hope they do royal blue coaches for it, the Mantua ones are close by the Royal Blue coaches didn't say BALTIMORE AND OHIO on them as the consist of cars was owned by more then just the B&O. Ownership was shown via the state seal on the car in teh center of the car body.

I think I will get one of those Russians and use modeler's license and letter it for the B&O, it might go well with the Roundhouse pax set.

The tender frame is milled and ready for a one inch OD speaker if you want sound. A Tsunami Micro-Tsunami would fit nice.
I have the undecorated model and installed a Tsunami DSD-100LC decoder some months ago. I should have waited for the Micro but I was impatient.
I am at present installing a Micro in a Roundouse DCC ready engine 2-6-0 which has a tender ready for a speaker.

Falls Valley, B&O Never used a Russian Iron Stripe scheme like that. they had em all black, all green with gold striping, or red cab and white boiler, black smoke box. Royal Blue version i'm not so sure of right now but i'm pretty sure it wasnt russian iron stripe as no other engine on the B&O had a russian iron stripe paint scheme. I think they way the William Mason is painted now is how the royal blue engine might have looked. I read the royal blue book and found really nothing describing the 4-4-0's used.

I have a russion pin stripe but in a private road name for a Cola plan i'm gonna haev on my layout. ITs primary duties will be switching cars at the plant while its big brother the 4-6-0 hauls the cars to and from the B&O yard.

It is your layout, you can do what you want, just be aware of the Nit Pickers. Just be careful with the prototypical term. Don't forget, the Kadee #5 coupler is quite oversize.
I have a Winans Camel kit bashed from a MDC 2-8-0 that captures the flavor of the era even if it is a little oversize. Yes, I catch flak occasionally.
I am also kit bashing a 0-6-0 tank locomotive into a cab forward oil fired 2-6-0 with a converted to oil slope back tender, DCC & sound.
At one time, years ago, there was a narrow gauge, cab forward, oil fired 4-4-0. Every so often there is a ho size model on eBay "Buy it Now".

Hmm.

Lots of good replies here, food for thought.

I managed to find a few trees to bark with this particular subject.

I have been thinking of Sound and DCC with these engines and would prefer that they come out of the factory already installed. Maybe if I wait long enough a good one will come out.

I enjoyed the Photos very much, those engines were very well done.

I have actually phased out number 5's in favor of the Kadee whisker 148's, all plastic couplers and wheels thrown away on sight; they dont recieve a moment's consideration.

I probably will end up purchasing a 4-4-0 in the spectrum, I just dont know yet which way Im going to go. I still have a few Microscale B&O steam sets.

Russia Iron 4-4-0 paint scheme is most striking. If the paint scheme was available in other Spectrum steamers I would likely collect those to add to the roster of my steam fleet - name yet to be determined.
The colour scheme being second only the the GN Glacier Green units.
