My Santa Fe #2897, GP35 wont run.
I can hear the motor running but the wheels wont turn.
Being a mechanic who likes to fix things i have inspected the unit and cant find a way to get the cabin off the chassis.
At either end of the chassis near the bogey wheels i can see what appears to be the end of a screw or a rivet if it is a screw i cant see how to get to the head of it.

How do i get the cabin off the chassis?

Any help would be appreciated.

Pop the fuel tank off and you will see the screws holding the shell on underneath. Check the driveshafts and make sure they are in the holders. If they are in place check to make sure the keepers for the driveshaft on the end of the motor are not slipping on the motor shaft if they are you should be able to put a little superglue on them to secure them.

Ray-

Now you've earned one of the critical pieces of information in model railroading: It's always harder to figure out how to get inside of the locomotive than it is to fix it. I'll bet someone on this board asks how to get into some kind of loco four or five times a week!

Be sure to clean off any dirt or oil on the drive shafts before you try to glue them.

Thank you Doneldon & Gerrys HO,

You were spot on took 2 min to fix once i knew what to attack.
The cabin and fuel tank looked one piece to me.

Best regards,
