External switch machines and EZ Track turnouts

I have some EZ Track turnouts with problem internal switch machines.  Has anyone used twin-coil (Atlas) or motor (Tortoise) switch machines on EZ Track remote turnouts?

At least with the EZ turnouts you can still control the switch with the lever mounted on the roadbed.

Tying to mount another switch machine to an EZ turnout will be an exercise in ingenuity.
