I would like to know if the highrailer wheels on the Bachmann pick up truck and bus are needed to run them ? Looks to me they are only there to represent the real thing .If they can be removed it would be easier to place them on the track .Thanks for anything you might share .Art

The wheels I mean are the small wheels that swing loose .

While we're at it, are the wheels (as in the ones that are the pick up) treaded or flat? The Broadway limited one I bought was good till the treads caught dirt, then it was a pain running it, sense then I sold it for this reason, but it was a beautiful truck no less. Any info would be great!

A Q-tip and some denatured alcohol will generally cut the crud from the wheels.  On such tiny wheels with very light equipment, cleanliness is an absolute must for both rolling stock and track.

You may also want to try Isopropyl alcohol as well.  70% is good for cleaning while the 99% will strip paint from plastic, without harming the model.
