Hi Mr. Bachmann. I am wondering if there is any plans for making a Southern Pacific P-8, 4-6-2 like #2472:

Hoople

That is a good idea, I believe the P-8s were harriman standards, and would be applicable to UP and IC also.

Hi
The P-8 is certainly a beautiful engine. Useful, as the class was used to pull fast freights too, but it is not a Harriman standard. Sorry.
The SP classes P-1, P-3 and P-5 were Harrimans.

But a non-USRA Pacific is always welcome, and I believe the P-8 could be a great stand-in for other Pacifics too, with another tender than the Vandy.

I would like to have Southern Pacific 2472 in HO.

Even though it's not harriman, I wouldn't mind having it on my layout.

SP RULES!!!

On the sp 4-6-2s. Does the p in p-1 p-3 5 & 8 stand for pacific?

SteamGene

Yes, P for Pacific.  The AC class was for "Articulated Consolidation"  :D
