EZ Command won't operate all functions

I bought an Intermountain EMD F7A and F7B with decoders installed. I watched it run and all functions worked properly.On my layout with the EZ Command only the direction controls and diesel engine sounds work.I have tried all other nine buttons (loco is set to 3) and can't make the lights,horn or bell work.What do I need to do? I have seen videos of these functions being operated from the EZ Command so it is possible right?

Short answer: 

Yes! It is possible to control some of the sounds and the lights.

Longer answer:

There is a function button (can't remember what color it is).  You must push that first, then hit the numbers, to control the sounds/lights.

Thanks for the info. It does work. After pressing the locomotive address button you press the yellow function button. The button that is asigned to the locomotive will begin to blink and then you can control the other functions as well as the loco's forward and reverse motion.
