Derailing problems

The tender on my new DCC Sound on Board Baldwin 4-6-0 Steam Locomotive does not want to rail easily even using the rerailer track section and keeps derailing on curves. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to solve this?

How and where exactly is the derailments happening?

Why not check the gauge on the tender trucks?

Besides the checking the wheel gauge, be sure the truck mounting screws aren't so tight that they restrict free and easy truck pivoting. Since the prototype was a three foot gauge loco, the amount of tender overhang is greater, also making it seem more difficult to get the wheels properly aligned with the rails.

I have also read here that the front off the tenders can be light on the wheels and some add a little weight inside the front of the tender but that might only be for the HO tenders.
Placement of the wires between the loco and tender can be important.
