Last year I purchased the loco on-line. When I tried to run it, the motor ran but not the loco. I returned it to Bachmann and a new gear-set was installed. When I received it I placed it on display on a shelf. When I placed it on the track today, it ran quite and smooth. The only problem is that the headlight does not work when going forward. When in reverse, the headlight and the back-up light on the tender light up. Any ideas for a fix? Is there a selection switch somewhere? Thank you.

Sounds like the LED is wired backwards. Reverse the wires going to the headlight and that should take care of the problem.

It could also be that the light is burned out, not likely since it is an Led, but if reversing the wiring does not work it may need replacement.

Bill:  it is not burned out because he says that it comes on when the engine is going backwards.  At that time both the headlight and the tender light come on.  Chuck
