eBay prices on 4-8-2 and 2-8-4 are up

The heavy 4-8-2's are averaging about $150
The 2-8-4 C&O Berks are averaging about $145

I wonder if manufacturers pay attention to auction prices to determine when there should be another run or not.

I've seen them go for $50 roughly recently too, its just a matter of who's on eBay when they're listed and how bad they want them

If bachmann does another run of the Heavy Mountain they should consider making a Norfolk and western 16,000 tender to go with the N&W version and also for a DRGW even though they didn't have USRA's but Bachmann has DRGW in N scale I figure why not in Ho??

They might even bring the mountain over to the standard line and go sound value

In general, model train prices climb on Ebay every fall and go that way well into February.  When the sun begins to shine again and temperatures warm, people's interests begin turn elsewhere and prices begin to fall back.  If you are looking for bargain trains on Ebay, July and August are the best.
