DCC #5 Turn outs

I just purchased the Backmann Left and Right DCC #5 Switches. There appears to be a problem when you try to add track to the Turn and the Straight, the track will not fit. Anyone have any ideas?

The little section of track included with your turnout is scored underneath so you can break it off to allow another section to connect.
