Did the Santa Fe Railroad have any 2-6-0 Camel Back Steam Locomotives ?. Thanks for any help. Owen

It is estimated that the B&O had maybe 200 of these.

Later camelbacks had the firebox above the drivers. The first camels had long fireboxes between the drivers for more firebox area. Just don't know yet if the road of interest had the 2-6-0. More searching and you might find the answer for this particular loco.

Search out your railroad of interest for all the steam locos they used. You will find the answer eventually and this will allow you to learn more about searching the Internet.

The only camel back on the Santa Fe was a 4-4-2.  It was rebuilt in a conventional 4-4-0 in only three years.

Sometimes called a Mother Hubbard because the can was in the center.

I have to assume the Santa Fe used soft coal as this type of loco was designed for hard coal. Must have been a bargain price. Lol
A dangerous loco for the driver and tough conditions for the fireman during bad weather and during the winter.
