I was wondering since the new #6 switches are 15 1/2" using 2 of those to make a siding on a double track main would be 31" and if I have 4 9" straights on the main that would be 36" and to get there from 31" I would need a 3" straight and a 2" straight but seeing as the 2" straights on only in the 90 degree crossing I was wondering if I could call bachmann and just order 2 of these pieces.

Dear Steve,
The 2" straights come in the track assortment because they are all molded together. This is why we have been unable to "Free the 2" straights!" for Terry T.
Sorry!

Perhaps if you freeze the 2.25 inch pieces ( item 44513 ) they will shorten up because they are brass and brass contracts when frozen and very cold.

Some planning  for the insertion into the  track layout would have to be thought out carefully. Result would be tight fit at room temp.

The logic stems from the old saying from the English Navy..."   freez the balls off a brass monkey..."

Have a GREAT DAY !!
