Bachmann Turntable

I have a new Bachman Turntable and am confused about the power pack I need for the DC mode. Is the power pack AC or DC.  I know that the active track must be DC but I am confused by the speed controller being connected to a AC Power pack in the diagram that came with the turntable.

Connect your variable DC to your track. The fixed (on most power packs) AC can be used for accessories, including your turntable motor. Some inexpensive power packs lack accessory terminals so you'll need another power source. That can be another power pack or a surplus wall wart from some old electronic or personal care items.
