Is the Auto-Reversing circuit board available for separate purchase and do you think it would operate an O Scale 2-rail piece of track with train?

The automatic reverse loop module #44912 is for N,HO,and Large scale. It is for DCC operation only.

if it has the capacity to work for large scale, it should work for 2 rail o scale as well.

Most two rail in O scale is D.C. power, so the auto reverse board should work with O scale two rail as well if it works with large scale or G scale. If the reverse board is for D.C. it should work.

The O gauge reversing board by Williams by Bachmann works with A.C. to control D.C. motors, and will not operate on D.C. because the circuit board is acting as a relay to control the motors that have the current run thru a bridge rectifier inside the circuit board, the bridge rectifier converts the A.C. to D.C. and needs A.C. to work.

That's not quite correct. The WBB reverse board and motors will operate fine on DC. The problem is, depending on the polarity of the DC, the horn may blow continuously, since it is triggered by a DC voltage on top of the normal AC track power.

As far as DCC autoreverse units for reverse loops, wyes, etc., go, check the specs. Some will only operate in a DCC enviroment. Some, like the Digitrax AR-1, will operate with DC or DCC power on the tracks.

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.
