Hey! It's great that you want to model Sodor. The best thing to do is probably find the maximum space you can use first, then start. I would suggest making the quarry and the docks one set that is easy to change around. Since there are many sidings, sheds and extra tracks, that would probably be the easiest thing to do.

Here's just a pic of what I did on my layout today

The two tables were separated so as to work on the mountain/hill, but my dad and I pushed them back together for a purpose. This Saturday is my birthday, and I want to run my trains for my friends :)

Thank you, ThunderbirdComics :) And I look forward to seeing pics of your layout

EDIT: Yesterday was my birthday, and for that occasion, I got another coal wagon w/ load and Bachmann Edward! He's awesome! :D

P.S. As you can see, I also got an Amtrak diesel from KATO. It was a gift from my grandma

The bachmann Edward is a great model, best in the range. And it looks like the layout is coming along nicely too! ;D

After a long time w/out updates to the layout, here are a few:

I glued down the other track risers, so they are now in place.

To keep the tracks on the risers, I nailed them down to the risers.

Here you go, and Merry Christmas one and all! :D

EDIT: Here's what my parents got me last night on Christmas Eve: Bachmann Donald and Douglas!

Any one have any luck on bending track for a incline quarry?

I think your best bet would be just to get track risers (like the ones on my layout) and use flex-track

EDIT: As of April 28th, here are some updates.

I have now completed my sidings.

Now, here is a turnout pointing inwards, ending in a siding (as Percy and his train are demonstrating). There will be a town in this area, too.

And last but not least, I have completed the inner track on the incline. I may still have to work out bumps and the like.

Thoughts? Let me know :)
