80 Ton Three Truck Shay

I have a shay engine that I purchased in 03-04 and nead to replace all three trucks on it but I heard that I can just replace the drive shaft on it but the side on the front of the front truck if falling off will that keep it from falling apart? Also if I replace the tender can I specify on the lettering on the tender or just order Cass Scenic Railroad Lettering from Bachmann?
