#5 turnout left ..track attachment issue

 i recently purchased this turnout and when i try to add it to the existing track i run into a problem at the Y i can't attach 2 pieces it looks like they need to be notched out or something am i missing something here...any help is much appreciated  thanks

Look at the little piece of track that accompanies the turnout and you should see a score line. Just break it off with a pair of pliers.
