I purchased a "Bachman Big Hauler White Christmas Express" maybe (?) 14 years ago. I drag it out of its box every year around this time. The box reads this is a "G" gauge. I'd like to buy a few more pieces of straight track. Is this size still available?

Me thinks this should be in the Large Scale forum. I would look in the Parts Page.

richg is correct: Your train is what Bachmann terms "Large Scale," and you will find more help in the Large Scale forum pages.

Meanwhile, here is a link to Bachmann's Large Scale Catalog page for track:

While you can purchase track and other parts through Bachmann's on-line store system, prices are generally better from independent dealers. Just Google the part numbers or descriptions shown on the page linked above and you will find many possibilities.

I usually order from shops that have HO scale but many have G scale also.
Below is a link that will show you many sources if you have no source near you.
If any questions about the reliability of on line source, come back here and ask.

I bought some G scale track on line a few years ago and I gave my G scale set to a son in law back in January for his new son. His dad can grow into model railroading as his son grows. I hope I can be around to see my grandson learn to enjoy model trains.

You will probably find it for less at other places and no doubt used for less.

Bob,
Everyone so far has assumed that your Big Hauler came with track that has metal rails.  But there is a small possibility that you have one of the early battery operated Big Haulers that came with plastic track.  Bad news is, that plastic track has not been made for years.  Good news is, even the battery operated Big Haulers work just fine on metal track.
