Bachmann plus sd45

I have an old Bachmann Plus SD45 and was curious if I could use a newer SD45 motor to re-power the unit. I bought it years back and custom painted it and would like to have it be compatible with the newer Spectrum SD45's that I have. Any input here would be greatly appreciated.

you can add dcc to it easy enough. follow these directions:

they will work just as well for any split frame locomotive. i have done one sd45 this way.

with dcc you can program out any speed differences between your locomotives.
