I purchased a EMD SD 45 from a online train store. The Engine seems to slip it will run fine then has a noise like gears slipping the it will run OK and same noise.
Has anyone had this problem and what can I do to stop it.
Any help would help.

I would send it back for a replacement unless you are ready to take it apart to see what is slipping. Might be a stripped gear or a loose coupling on the drive shaft.
