An extremely stupid question

I have just received the 26 pc Bachmann graduated trestel  set and the 8 pc elevated track set. The 8 pc elevated set simply snaps around the track as expected - but - for the life of me I can't figure out how the smaller trestel pieces fit onto the track. What am I missing?? Thanks

Dear Mrm,
Assuming you're using EZ Track, the top of each trestle should be u-shaped to hold the roadbed. It the graduated set does not have this channel, you've gotten one of the old, pre-EZ Track sets and will have to look for the new one.
