Some folks keep a log of every mishap on their model railroad listing what happened, where it happened and what cars were involved. Then they can easily identify the sources of operational problems. This is very  easy with a computer as one can sort the entries to find patterens which point to the needed fix. I try to do this myself and find it to be quite useful. It's not so useful when I neglect it; I guess the moral of the story is that one must keep with this habit if it's going to be of use.

hey: Apparently thecouplers are lets say the economy model they putonthe train kits you see at hobby lobby. No springs. so will be changing all my couplers from here onout to something a little beefier
