DCC engine

My DD40ax finally arrived. Love it. But one question. It's my first DCC locomotive and in the box there is a plastic bag and is that the decoder or the dummy plug if you take the decoder out. It runs fine on DC. So what is it. Thanks

It is the dummy plug, also know as the jumper plug. If you replace the decoder with the jumpers, the locomotive will operate better on DC, and not require as much power to get moving.
