DCC Turnouts?

I recently changed my Christmas tree layout to a Bachmann DCC controller...I have 3 DCC locos operating on a layout with 5 remote powered turnouts which I was using with the old DC controller....
My question is, what is the purpose of DCC equipped turnouts and should I replace the ones that I'm presently using??
