Locomotive compatibility

I have an Acela set with the EZ track DCC equipped locomotives and transformer. I want to purchase a diesel freight locomotive and was wondering if the Western Maryland GP 35 #3578 will run using the Acela transformer? What "MOTIVE POWER" will NOT work using the Acela transformer?

If the transformer is for DCC and not Dc then you should stay with DCC equipped Motive power to add.
If the transformer is for DC only with  Fwd & Rev and speed control you can use any duel mode (DC/DCC) or DC only motive power.

Dcc READY engines are not DCC equipped but can have Dcc added later.
