At least do the boxcars and passenger cars.

I got your Oldtime 4-4-0 to run better. Why don't you guys at least improve the electrics? It doesn't take that much. Visit:

Bach-mann, how can I purchase un-used Bachmann HO scale oldtime passenger cars?

Some dealers may have new old stock, but otherwise there are no guarantees.

The Bachmann cars, and the Rivarossis and the ConCors, are constantly available on eBay, not uncommonly unused and in the original boxes.

Not to mention the Athearn-Roundhouse-Model Die Casting cars.

I know that. Without new stock and an improved 4-4-0 there will be no growth in this era of modeling. Most people initially don't wanta scrounge for  equipment in dusty hobbyshops or on Fee-bay. There is interest in this era because Bachmann can still sell the 4-4-0 as dreadful a runner as it is.

The boxcars rarely come up on Fee-bay usually it is the flats and water cars. The MDC/Roundhouse/Athearn freight cars are too new prototypes dating from the late 1890's long after most of the 1870 4-4-0's like the Bachmann had been put to sleep. The Mantua/Model Power cars can be modified to be typical of the 1870's.

Here is one link for Bachmann rolling stock. I buy quite a lot of rolling stock on ebay. You just have to know prices and how to bid on it.

Check you email. I sent a bunch of old time links but they are not Bachmann products so I will not post them here.

No boxcars!! I know where to get oldtime stuff. I want Bachmann to make new stuff so new people will grow the 1870's, Fee-bay isn't the way. It has to be available at online hobby shops. That is where most of the traffic is.

First of we have to face reality, This era is not very popular, regardless what you think. I sent one person a larger variety of possible links for old time stuff. It will take a lot to convince Bachmann to resurrect the old time line. I would like to be proved wrong. This is a new era for Bachmann. The 1970s and 1980s are gone.
Ebay is not an issue. I buy a large amount of new and new old stock rolling stock and locos off of ebay for very good prices. You have to change with the time.

The era isn't popular but the locomotives seem to be popular with the "hi-rail" trainset crowd, which constitutes most of the hobby. Bachmann keeps issuing new road names for the locomotives so someone is interested in them. Seems odd that they haven't reissued the cars to go with them.

My "Making the Bachmann 1870's 4-4-0 Run Better" WID has been one of my most visited webarticles on the site.

the 1870's Era coaches are the base of my funeral trains I made up for my two fallen pups.

http://www.freewebs.com/baltoohiorrfan/sarahtrain.html
While Sarah's train only features two coaches painted in the "modern" B&O colors(my layout will be based in the 40's/50's) Purdy's which is slowly being done as $$ allows will feature all coaches being the 1870's all have interiors too.

Hes a peek at Purdy's casket car.
