Is the Williams Girl's engine mechanism compatible with Lionel's 221 Shell?

I have several Lionel 221 Dreyfuss shells and would like to have new
engine mechanisms -- Williams now makes the Girls train engine (akin
to Lionel's 2047 engine) with a 2-6-4 wheel arrangement that might be compatible with Lionel's 221 engine.  Does anyone know the answer?

I have not specifically tried this, but I seroius doubt if it will work without modifying your 221 shell.
