HO-E-Z Track Curve questions

Trying to build a corner module with HO E-Z Track. The straight track on an adjoining module is 2" on center separation. The outer track is 22" radius E-Z track.

What radius should the inner radius be? How many track segments in a 90 degree arc?

Is there a reerailler/power supply segment for the 22"radius ?

The inner radius should be 18". Although, to be able run larger locks and rolling stock, you should change the outer radius to 24", then your inner radius can be 22.

The number of EZTrack segments in a 90^o arc varies with the curvature.  You'll need four pieces of 22", three pieces of 18", or five pieces of the wider curves (roughly 26", 28", 33", 35")  There is an 18" curved terminal/rerailer track but I'm not certain if it is available in other  radii.  I don't think so.  

Terminals aren't an issue as you can just solder your feeders to the outsides of the rails or the rail joiners.  You'll have to use straight rerailers if you need rerailers, which you might not.  If you lay your track carefully you shouldn't have wheels off of the track.  If you do have regular derailments you are better off improving your trackwork than relying on rerailers.

There is not a 22" radius terminal/re-railer they are only available in 18" radius and 9" straight sections. As far as then inner radius goes, you'll have to try 18" radius because that is all there is (besides the 15" radius which should be avoided at all costs). I would suggest perhaps using larger radius curves for more reliable running; it will also look a lot better and allow almost any locomotive or car to run on you layout.

Delk How big is your layout?  Can you fit 22 or larger curves?

Yes you can use a 22 inch curve as a power segment,,just need to use  these
terminal rail joiners or make your own,

As far as 22inch curve rerailer,,ready made,,none that i am aware of, but that does not mean it can't be done by scratchbuilding one.

you can come pretty close to the 20" radius curve you'd need for your double track by using the following configuration: 1 section 22" radius, 1 section 18" radius, 1/2 section 18" radius, 1 section 22" radius. this will work for a 90 degree turn. for a 180 degree turn, start with a 22" radius, and alternate 22" and 18" sections. you'll need 4 22" and 3 18" sections for this......

that said, 2" centers on curves that sharp isn't enough to prevent longer cars from sideswiping on the curve. you'd be much better off using 2 1/4" centers.
