Does anyone know of anyone that still stocks the Bowser docksider 0-4-0 . with the can motor & gearbox.  I have one of the older ones with open frame motor & it would probably be cheaper to buy one that already has the can motor & gearbox than convert mine.   Thanks....jerry

Do a Google search. You might find something but I would contact the below fellow. I do business with him and he does answer email. Click on Re-motoring.
He has  loco crew figures if you do not like running locos without crews. I am ordering a few more figures now.

I did google it & only got the Bowser site where it says that they are no longer available. All other sites are reviews or spare parts.   Thanks

Ask Bowser if they still have any parts left for the Varney dockside. Bowser steam is going for big prices if you can find them. The Bowser site says they might still have parts available.

One result from a Google search for varney dockside. A little better way to search.

Here's another vote for contacting Dan at Yardbirdtrains.com.  Honestly, I think he runs the whole operation by himself.  He was incredibly helpful when I redid my Varney Dockside Switcher.  His motors are a perfect replacement for the old Pittmans.  He will have new dockside valve gears sometime this Spring.

Be prepared... Since Bowser quit handling their steam line, Yardbird has become very, very busy.  They are one of perhaps two or three folks who still stock parts for the old metal engines.

Good luck.  I have recently become obsessed with rebuilding old engines.

Bowser recently added an on-line store with literally thousands of parts:

MY hobby shop has one for 29.99 let me know if you want it.
Getting back into the hobby, one guitar sale at a time ;)

The new on line store is where I got the valve gear parts for my Doxie.
