I said i was going to a train show but we did one better... We went to the southern railways Spencer shops! Has anyone else gone, it is a great place. They have things like a russian decapod, shay, 4-6-0, and the oddest loco ever. An american inside cylinder geared fireless loco. I finally saw how close bachmanns decapods are. oh, and they have one of the biggest roundhouses in the country... 37 stalls. As if that wasn't enough across the street is a small train exclusive hobby shop. If you havent gone, you should!

Yes, pretty impressive yard area at Spencer.

I was there a few years ago and if I remember correctly the turntable rotated and they ran one engine out of the engine house on to it.

Very cool to see that happening in the real world

I was there maybe 10 years ago and they told us to get on the turntable and turned us around.
