Neato stuff on the NS Mainline in Altoona

Dear Friends,

BaltoOhioRRfan's post got me thinking about an early Wednesday am gang doing trackwork on the NS main line.  There were about 30 or 40 work cars at least a half mile long, in orange color, all "dipsy doodle" looking, sort of like the New Bright Christmas cars, replacing cross ties, ballast and alignment.  They were fired up, belching smoke with a bustle of activity, sort of like a C---ese Fire Drill.  I am just sorry I did not have my digital camera to video it.  Quite impressive to little kids, as some of us are when around trains !
