degrees on the track

On a piece of Bachmann track such as curve radius 28", angle 18 degrees, what does the 18 degrees refer to. Thanks.

It refers to the fraction of the circle, in this case, 1/20. (20 x 18 = 360), so twenty sections make a circle.
