Nice city/country buildings and scene ... maybe you could do a 'shelf layout' in your apartment? Instead of a 'loop' do point to point with industry and switching?

It's a shame to take it apart, can you slide it under your bed? I once had a slot car setup, living in a small mobile home.  I rigged up some rope and pulleys and just pulled it up to the ceiling.
