Hello Bachmann, Hello Members of the Forum !

I have disassembled the complete Chassis of my K 27 and also successfully reassembled it after repainting.
But there is one part which I have "rest" and don't know where it should be assembled:

Rear pilot axle assembly:

There are 3 springs 10205 shown in the Drawing.
Tow of them are the vertical suspension for the axle, mounted within the boxes of the frame item OAU02. They re shown vertically in the drawing.
But there is another one, shown above the electrical connectors in horizontal position.
This one is the one which I don't know where it should come.
Because it is a single one, it should be anywhere in the center.....

All the assembly is working properly without this spring also......

By the way, there is another small problem.

I need some of the covers for the central screw of the counter weights (item No. MT 100, damaged during disassembly) and also some of the rivets for the spring system as spares (MT 47Z).
Where can I get these parts?
Because I am living in China, is it possible to get them there?

Best regards,

Udo

Hello Bachmann !

There is still one open question:
Can any body tell me where that spring should be mounted?

The other point with thespare parts:
I tried to ask Bachmann China in Shanghai by mail for that.......
No response !

Hello Dave !

I hope it only "looks like".....

Hello Mr. Bachmann,
may be my description is not clear enough to enable you to give an answer.
Therefore I add a section of the Bachmann drawing where I marked the spring.

Dear Udo,
I have just returned to New York from a WGH show in Seattle.
I believe a letter to Philadelphia will get you your covers.
I haven't taken a loco apart; perhaps they can help with the spring placement as well.
I'll see if I can find out.
Have fun!

Hello Bachmann !

Is there any progress ?
I think, someone has designed the model and should have drawings where you can the place the spring should have.
May be you can give me a section of that drawing ????
As I am an engineer, I will be able to understand drawings....

Best regards,

Udo

Hello Bachmann !

Any news about the spring ????
Regarding the spares, your Service department told me that they don't have these items....
But from time to time I should ask again.........
"Nice" answer !!!

Hello Bachmann !
Long time has passed now since I posted my question regarding the location of that spring....
It seems to me, that even Bachmann people don't know where to assemble that small spring.
If that's the case, I ask me, how they assemble that nice loco in the factory....

Hello Mr. Bachmann!
:( :( :(
May I bring my question back to your memory ???
Slowly I get frustrated about the non answering of some question like mine.
This should be a very easy thing for your technical department.....
This habit is in my opinion a poor "after sales service"!!

Hello Mr. Bachmann !

As you can see, the answer to my question is still open (since November last year.....).

To get the answer, I found another way....
I just purchase another K27 and there I will find out where the spring is installed.
By the way, that's not the real reason for the purchase. The real reason is that I like that loco very much.
I am very satisfied with the quality of the loco design from Bachmann, but not with the quality of the production. So up to now, I disassembled and rebuilt all my Bachmann locos to avoid any not correct assembly. That's my experience with the 4-4-0, the 2-6-6-2, the K27 and the Davenport Diesel as well.

Bachmann, please try in the future to answer some technical questions about your products a little bit faster....

Best regards,

Udo
