Where are the really good train shows where you see manufacturers there and/or retailers displaying their new products?

Nathan

What part pr the country do you live in?

How far are you willing to travel and is an over night or several day stay okay?

I wish they had decent train shows in the NYC area with manufacturers reps.  I go to the Greenburg show every other month in Edison NJ mostly to shop but also because the local clubs show their layouts so I get ideas In fact there is one this weekend.

Well, here's a few.  There is one in Springfield, Mass in late Feb.; Another one in Allentown, PA in the same general time frame.  There is the one in Timonium, MD.  The February show got snowed out; the next one is April 17-18.  There is a show out in the Chicago area in late summer, if I recall.  There is the World's Greatest Hobby show, which tours around the country.  Look them up on the web for dates and locations.  The NMRA sponsors a big show in connection with their annual conventions.  This year it is in Milwaukee in July.  FWIW, there is a small show on March 20 in Steelton, PA, just south of Harrisburg.

I live in the Atlanta, GA area.

I'm looking for top notch train shows.

We had one here last weekend and I was disappointed.

Have tic willing to travel. AirTran and Delta go most everywhere from here.

The next question is what do you expect in a train show?  Lots of layouts?  Just in your scale?  Are you looking for the manufactures to be there?  Are you looking for tools?

Here in San Antonio, TX we have 3 trains shows a year.  I look forward to the January one because that is when the large scale hobby shop from the Huston area comes over.

There are 3 train shows in New Braunfels, about 40 min. north of San Antonio.  One of them is layouts only.

The train show at the Large Scale convention is going to be different then the one at the NMRA convention.  The NMRA is in Milwaukee, July 11 to 18 with the train show the 17th to the 19th.
