Bach man: Request a replacement PCB or send in the loco?

While trying to install DCC the contact on the PCB to the motor snapped off.  Even though I soldered the contact again, it still breaks again because it is too fragile. 

I am wondering am I better off calling the service department to ask for a ne w PCB to save time, or should I send the loco back?

PS.  The loco is a Spectrum GE Dash8-40CW.

Damn, I found out the motor was also burnt.  The loco is history

I dismantled the entire loco, and tested the motor...it works, so that is good news.  I still need to test the lights.  Come Monday I think I'm gonna give the service department a call, to see if they can just send me a PCB with the lights soldered on already, if not, just the PCB will be good enough.  I just have to solder the lights myself.

For DCC, you don't need the PCB.

Hard-wire a decoder that fits and place a resistor in the light circuit.
