In a modern air brake system, does each car (passenger or freight) have its own pressurized air reserve? Or is there one large pressure reserve on the engines that is used for all the cars? Also, does the air pressure applied RELEASE the brake or APPLY the brake? For example, I think a truck has its parking brake applied with springs and then the air pressure actually RELEASES the brake. Thanks.
