An ex South Eastern and Chatham Railway C class 0-6-0.  Built between 1900 and 1908 and a total of 109 were built.  They were mainly a goods (freight) engine but were sometimes used on passenger trains on summer Saturdays to handle the extra traffic of the seaside holiday maker rush .  The loco in your,  SECR No.  592 (Southern Railway 1592, BR 31592), has been preserved on the Bluebell Railway. It has recently returned to traffic after its most recent overhaul in 2007.   It was restored to working order from a heap of parts and put into service on the Bluebell Railway.
