I have a Spectrum Dash 8 with CSX markings (#7661)  Item No. is 83505.  I would like to add sound.  Is a sound decoder available and is this a "big" job to add sound?  Thanks.

It has an 8 pin socket, so you won't have to hard wire it. But in terms of difficulty, it depends on what size speaker you use. It has room for a smaller speaker without doing anything to it.
