In videos of the DeWitt Clinton, I have recognized that the train makes a grinding sound and is very loud. Is there a flaw in the model(s) or are they actually quiet? No offense is meant and I'm just curious about it. Thanks.

they are toy quality and noisy. i have heard them before. i have the john bull. same thing. does not run very well. if it does run, goes about 100 mph

sadly that's true, they are more for displayable purposes.

hmm...I got all three and tho noisy i can run em at prototypical speeds, my only complaint is the layfayette wont pull all 3 coaches on a slight grade.
